Bio: I started running in 2007 after the unexpected passing of my brother. I realized I needed to get healthy and my brother and I always shared a love for running and traveling. So I signed up for my first marathon in Dublin, Ireland in 2007. I often think about my brother while running, especially during the long training runs when I need some inspiration and determination to keep going. I have since completed 45 marathons and many other 1/2marathons, 10K, 5K, etc. I have traveled the world doing marathons including completing the Triple 7 Quest – completing a marathon on every continent with a goal of 7 days (it took us 11 days due to bad weather getting to Antarctica). Running is my passion. I love to encourage others to start running or push themselves to take on a new challenge that they didn’t think was possible. That is why I love being a Pacer for the Gazelle Girl 1/2 Marathon.
Why Gazelle Girl: Gazelle Girl is my favorite local event – I love seeing all the girls and women come together to accomplish their goals, whether that is their first 5K or 1/2 marathon, getting back into running, or achieving a new PR. This race has the best energy of any race I have ever run! I have run the Gazelle Girl 1/2 marathon every year and been a Pacer the past 2 years. I do not repeat many races since I love to experience new events, but this is one race I plan to do every year that I am able to!
