Bio: I fell in love with running about 20 years ago after my husband and I moved away from my hometown. I used running as a way to stay in shape, meet people and have fun. Running was like therapy for me.
I have been a fitness instructor for more than 20 years and love to share my love of exercise with others. I have also been a volunteer mentor with No Surrender Running Club for 6 years. We meet weekly with at-risk kids from Grand Rapids to help them train for both the Reeds Lake Run and the 10 mile Bridge Run.
I volunteer to encourage the kids but so often return home having been encouraged by them. I would like to be a pacer for the same reason I mentor: I enjoy spending time with people and encouraging them to believe they can do the difficult things.
Why Gazelle Girl: I have never been able to run Gazelle girl due to other conflicts but have heard such wonderful things about the race.I love the idea of all women encouraging each other in an event that is so good for you and challenging at the same time. Sounds like such a great event to be part of.
