Why Are We in Such a Rush?

Why are we in such a rush?

  • To grow up
  • To wear make up
  • For that first kiss (which is never really that good by the way, right?)
  • Taking that first spin down the road with that brand new license

Maybe you’re on the other side of parenthood… You wish you could go back and tell your younger self: Grow slow. Adulting is hard and it doesn’t get any easier. It calls us to be OK with the what is. Follow the process. Take the next best step. Lace up when you don’t feel like it.

Anything worth having is hard and often takes longer than we hoped. Study. Put in the time and acquire the diploma. Work hard. Get promoted.

Newsflash! Running is no different.

The weather has been brutal. It’s made it tough. However, it calls out our inner warrior to stay the course and follow the training calendar. That’s the place where strength is found. The decision to follow the plan, do the work, show up for you one small shift at a time. Grow Slow.

  • Sustainable
  • Measurable
  • Smart

This is how race day success is made. What you put into it, you get out of it… In all the things..work, home, and race day.

Right about now the miles are getting longer in your training. You may be questioning if you can do it. Keep going.

Do not miss the opportunity to practice race day with us at the course preview on March 17. We will meet up at MVP Sports Club Metro location at 8:30 AM. Join us! As I said in last month’s email- accountability makes all the difference. Do the work for you and make a friend while your at it! Made better with Mirna Valerio joining us too!

Grow slow,
Holly Visser
